No Dresses Thanks

My mother was a real tomboy. She even earned the nicknamed Tom. I can remember one of my cousins always called mum Tom and never by her proper name. She was an older cousin of mine and was the daughter of one of my older Aunties. She was a great cousin. I can remember her beautiful smile and sparkly eyes. She truly lit up a room. She was sadly taken too young.

One day on my mother's birthday, mum was eagerly awaiting her present from her parents.

Well the look of disappoint that would have been on her face when she received a beautiful dress that my nana had made for her, would have been one of horror I would imagine.
See, she didn't want that dress...she wanted a gun and holster set that she had seen at the local shop.
Nana tried and tried to make that mother of mine wear dresses and you know to this day she still hates them.
What a difficult child.
