Rose was born in Charters Towers on 26 Nov 1891. She was the second daughter and 5th child for Frederick and Margaret.
Rose married Sydney James Helland in about 1920 when she was 29 years of age. She only had one daughter named Norma Joyce who was born in 1925 and at the time Rose and Sydney lived in Aland St Charters Towers where Sydney was a miner and Rose was on home duties.

Now I am not sure if this was the same house that Rose's family had lived in but I am assuming that perhaps it was but the rest of the family had moved out and were living in Paton St, Kangaroo Point at this particular time with Frederick and Margaret.
The houses didn't have numbers on them back then so it is a bit of guess work to piece some things together.
In 1930 Rose and Sydney Helland had moved from Charters Towers to Wilmington St, Ayr Queensland where Rose was listed as being on home duties and Sydney was a Storekeeper.
I am not really sure as to whether or not Sydney passed away or they divorced but in 1936 Rose was listed on the Australian Electoral Roll as living in Munro St Ayr, without her husband. This address was the residence of her sister Margaret and Margaret's husband Sydney Johns.

Rose remarried in 1942 and I am guessing that her first husband had passed because her name on her marriage certificate to her second husband was recorded as Rose Helland.
Her second husband was William David Whyte and they married in Sydney, New South Wales Australia.
It was while Rose was living in Sydney that my Aunt Carol used to write to her until one day the letters started coming back and that was when contact between Rose and her Truscott family was lost. It is still unclear as to why the letters were returned for Rose's address never changed.
During her life in Sydney, Rose resided at 360 South Dowling Street, Paddington and this was also listed as being her usual place of residence on her death certificate. Her husband William passed away in 1970 and Rose's death occurred on 20th July 1976. Her cause of death was Respiratory Arrest (10mins), Terminal Bronchonpneumonia and Rheumatoid Arthritis (years).
Rose was 84 years old when she died.

There has never been any contact between Norma or the Truscott family. My Aunty Val said that she went and visited her Aunt Rosie in Sydney once which must not have been very long before Rose passed. I am not sure if Aunty Val met Norma or not but she did tell me that she knew that Rose had a daughter.
